Jay Graham

About

Hi, I'm Jay.

I'm a Scotland-based actor, writer and filmmaker, working out of Glasgow. I've been telling stories one way or another for as long as I can remember — on stage, on screen, around a gaming table and on the page.

I trained at Reid Kerr College and later with a night class at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and I've worked across independent film, live interactive theatre and voice. At six foot one with long hair and a full beard, I usually get cast as outlandish characters of one kind or another. I love characters with a bit of history behind the eyes.

Off set, I run Nae Danger Productions. My first film, Morning Jim, was made on a zero budget and won five festival awards. I also write novels, scripts and the occasional blog, and I share my love of TTRPGs and D&D through my Jay's RP Corner section.

Things you might not know

01

Five awards. Zero budget.

Morning Jim was my first film. We made it for nothing and it came home with Best Screenplay, two Best Actress and two Best Actor wins.

02

Nearly four decades at the table

I've been playing and running D&D for almost 40 years, as a player and as a Dungeon Master.

03

Read it, then play it

My novel Nothing Dies in Darkness has a companion game book, so readers can step into Karn themselves. Both land in November 2026.

04

Who's really in charge

I live with my wife Marieke and our cat Bub. Bub runs the house. Marieke and I just live in it.

05

A voice for every occasion

I can employ a variety of character voices and accents. Want to know more? Just ask.

06

Unscripted? No problem.

Decades as a role player have made me a natural improviser. Throw me a curveball and I'll stay in character and run with it.
